Privacy Policy for Lingue

Lingue (https://lingue.app) is operated by Indie AI Labs. We value your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Lingue, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication details. This is used to create and manage your account, sign you in, and communicate with you.
  • Billing data: When you subscribe or start a free trial, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain billing metadata such as your plan, subscription status, and the last four digits and expiry of your card as returned by Stripe.
  • Content you create: We store the screenshots, images, fonts, text, and design files you upload or generate in the editor, along with the projects, screenshot sets, and versions you create. This content is stored so we can provide the service and let you return to your work.
  • AI prompts and inputs: When you use AI assists (copywriting or image generation), the text prompts, app descriptions, and images you submit are processed to produce the requested output.
  • Usage and technical data: We collect cookies, IP addresses, device and browser information, and product usage events to operate the service, keep it secure, and understand how it is used.

2. Use of Information

  • Account and billing data are used for account management, authentication, processing payments, enforcing plan limits, service-related communications, and support.
  • Content you create is used solely to provide the editor and export features to you. We do not use your private project content to train AI models.
  • AI prompts and inputs are used to generate the copy and images you request, and are sent to our AI sub-processors (see Section 3) for that purpose only.
  • Usage and technical data are used to analyze traffic, maintain security, debug issues, and improve the product and user experience.

3. Sharing of Data

We do not sell or trade your personal data. We share data only with service providers (sub-processors) that help us operate Lingue, and only as needed to provide the service or to comply with legal obligations. Our main sub-processors are:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, file storage, and serverless functions.
  • Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
  • OpenAI: generating screenshot copy from the prompts you submit.
  • Google (Gemini): generating images and backgrounds from the prompts you submit.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. When you submit content to AI features, it is transmitted to the relevant AI provider to fulfil your request.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the service, and measure usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may limit access to certain features.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data and content against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@lingue.app. You may delete your content from within the app, or request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data, content, and projects for as long as your account is active. If your free trial ends without a subscription, or if you cancel, your content may be deleted after a reasonable wind-down period. Your email address may be retained for communication and legal record-keeping unless you request its deletion. We may retain certain billing records for as long as required by law.

8. International Data Transfers

Our sub-processors may process data outside the Netherlands and the EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.

9. Children

Lingue is not intended for use by children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the service.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
